About Us

Our mission:
"To positively change what it means to have a disability with programs and opportunities that enrich, educate, and empower people as they live, work, and play in their inclusive community."

Our vision:
"YES! of America United is dedicated to enriching the lives of people who are living with disabilities through programs that enrich, educate, and ultimately empower them to encourage and influence positive changes in the community as a whole."
"Becki Forsell, YES! Founder, meeting with Governor Crist"

Yes has been evolving over the past years into its present form as a place where persons
with disabilities are enriched, educated, and empowered to live more full lives. Our purpose, mission, and values all follow the simple rule "giving a hand-up, not a hand out". We believe in this truism and exercise it by challenging everyone we meet to step up and learn how to live an enriched life by engaging them in proactive and positive programming. We provide ample opportunities for persons with disabilities to get out of the house, to get into groups and be educated at our community center, to come out and be enriched with our outreach trips and volunteer programs.

People who get involved speak of how of how Yes! "Saved my life. Without Yes! I would not bet where I am today. Without Yes! I could not be doing what I am doing!" That means working, volunteering, being empowered and engaged the community at large. At Yes! we understand where you are coming from and we have a proven and tried way to get you where you want to be; because we have gone before, we have walked the walk and now we are here to help you move forward in your life. It you or someone you know is interested in getting involved just contact us. Our programs are ongoing , our center is open every week, our outreach and social functions are always changing, and our members are all willing to help those who are willing to learn how to help themselves.
