Biography

Catherine Barja is a 73 year old widow who has resided in Tampa since 1946. She has 3 children, 8 grand children, and 3 great grandchildren of which many still reside in this community. Cathy was elected to the Tampa City Council in 1971 and was re-elected in 1975. She was appointed to the Tampa City Council from 1986 to 1987. Presently she is Vice Chairman of the Hillsborough County Transportation Disadvantaged Board, vice chair of the Grassroots, member of the board of directors of YES! of America United and the President of River Oaks III Condominium Board.
