Outreach

Come Help Us Grow!

At Yes! we believe in reaching beyond our own community center and into community at large. We encourage our members to take responsibility for their community by volunteering, getting involved with local groups, and staying informed of current issues. This includes working diligently with our community partners and making dedicated efforts to mentor, advocate, educate, volunteer, and reach out to the community at large.

The Yes! programming and community center trains and educates persons with disabilities on how to advocate, mentor, and volunteer. We work directly with community partners so our members have places to go and exercise the skills they have learned and connect with other groups in our community who promote self-reliance. Our members devote many hours a week to these efforts and we are proud of the alliances and community partnerships we have built over the years. Needless to say we have to many friends and partners to list them all, but here are a few activities and groups we have been engaged with:

Prevent Blindness Walk
Autism Walk-a-thon
Freedom Playground Wheel-a-thon
Sincerely Santa Christmas Gift Drive
Tastes of Hillsborough Day
Lavoy School Mentoring
SERTOMA Club Speakers
Family Cafe
Hartline Taskforce
MPO Committee
Livable Roadways Committee
Transportation Disadvantaged Board
Florida Board of Independent Living Council
FOP State Board
